“Receiving the NASC scholarship was a surreal experience. I had not realized I had received it until my Student Council advisor told me and we celebrated together. This recognition means that all the hard work and effort I have put into everything I do has paid off. As a young girl from Puerto Rico, it is exciting to see the impact I can have and I hope it can work as inspiration for others. I will forever be grateful to the NASC for choosing me and everyone who has helped me along the way.”
– Paola Alvarado, 2025 National Finalist (Dorado, PR)

“I chose to apply for the NASC scholarship because I wanted to prove to myself and my council that even if you are from a small town, your contributions to student council can still be profound and honorable. Sometimes, we get lost in the idea that we are small fish in small ponds. But, the truth is that we all are worthy of being recognized, appreciated, and represented as important members of a nationwide organization. I also truly wanted to do this for my advisor, who has been there for me through every up and down. Receiving this scholarship felt like a victory for both of us, and I truly owe it all to him.”
– Karina Kleinschmidt, 2025 Finalist (West Wendover, NV)
