Testimonials:

“Receiving the National Association of Student Councils (NASC) Scholarship is both an honor and a powerful affirmation of the journey I have taken as a student leader. For me, this scholarship represents more than financial support; it represents recognition of the countless hours spent advocating for students, organizing initiatives, and stepping into leadership roles even when I felt unprepared or unsure. It validates the belief that student voice matters and that young people can meaningfully shape their schools and communities.”
— Jake Munzaa, 2026 National Winner (Winchester, CA)

“Being selected as a winner affirmed to me that student voice and service truly matter and that the work students do every day can create a real impact not just within their schools, but in their communities. As a first-generation student, this recognition gave me confidence and reassurance that my leadership journey is valued on a national level. I felt grateful and inspired to continue leading with purpose and to carry out the lessons that student council taught me into college and beyond.”
— Jessica Martinez, 2026 National Winner (Joliet, IL)

“I chose to apply for the NASC Scholarship because of the immense role that student council has played in my life over the past few years. The NASC scholarship is genuinely unlike any other scholarship because your application centers around student council rather than other extracurriculars or academics. To be able to reflect on and share the student council experiences I’ve accumulated over the past few years with so many amazing groups of people in my essays was such a rewarding and motivating process.”
— Chris Tao, 2026 National Winner (Sioux Falls, SD)

“The work my adviser, classmates, and I have done has never been about awards or recognition, it has always been about serving our school and community. However, being acknowledged in this way is incredibly affirming. Coming from a small, rural town with a strong, supportive community, this award represents more than just an individual achievement. It honors our entire student council and the community that has supported us every step of the way.”
— Adelaide Lord, 2026 National Winner (Silverton, OR)
