HOLIDAY PARTY SCAVENGER HUNT 2016
PINEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL, PINEVILLE, LA 

This scavenger hunt includes activities that award points, such as taking a picture with Santa or cheering a carol in the stadium. In 2016, the student council added several destinations to encourage empathetic actions, like caroling for cans and delivering ornaments to Salvation Army bell ringers.

JOYMAKER CHALLENGE/ANGEL TREE 2016
GRANT SAWYER MIDDLE SCHOOL, LAS VEGAS, NV

Each year, this student council does an Angel Tree to assist indigent students in the school community. In 2016, Hasbro Toys chose the council to participate in its “Joymaker Challenge,” donating 107 new toys for distribution to needy children. Students spent three weeks wrapping, labeling, and identifying appropriate toys for middle school and surrounding elementary school students.

Student Council Tips and Tools

At this time of the year, many student councils engage with charitable organizations by hosting fundraising projects. For many charities, the locally sponsored fundraising events are their primary source of income.

Before launching into any fundraising effort, advisers are invited to review our tips and guidelines to help ensure the event is permissible and to increase the level of success.
